Apex Temple Court Hotel

We opted for a new hotel in London due to the fact that once again I had spent far too much on theatre tickets! To fund the cultural marathon for three plays in four days a good deal was found at the favorably reviewed Apex Temple Court. We found it well located for both the nearby West End and the National Theatre which was only a short walk  across the river.

Though this isn't an elaborate London hotel (British luxury can be either traditional or modern but either way it is extravagantly expensive) it is well designed and we found the rooms well decorated, large and comfortable. The staff were  pleasant and we were impressed with both the quality and the options at breakfast.

I liked the bathroom which was large and well appointed. There was a separate bath and shower which I was happy about and which I wouldn't expect of a hotel in this price range. Overall a very good value at 115 pounds including a continental breakfast. The Apex chain often has deals on Travelzoo so it's worth having a look on their UK site.

Fleet Street isn't a residential neighborhood but it is busy during the week and the area around the hotel is one of the oldest in London. Close to the Inns of Court and The Courtuald Gallery it is only ten minutes to Covent Garden and only little more to Trafalgar Square.

The hotel is set back from the road in a converted  legal inns or chamber and though the weather was inclement during our stay there is a lovely outdoor seating area in the back which would be nice in the summer.

Recommended if you can find a good rate.

We're off to Lisboa tomorrow so our small adventure is taking flight. There's an upcoming post on eating in London (lots of fab photos) and then you can expect lots on Portugal.
